Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data — email address, sign-in identifiers from Apple or Google, display name.
• Profile data you choose to publish — roles, city, bio, height, style tags, portfolio images, rate notes, and social account names with the visibility you set for each.
• Activity data — gigs you post, applications, availability calendar entries, contracts you sign, purchases, and reports you file.
• Messages — the content of chats you send and receive on ShootLink, and images you attach.
• Device data — push notification tokens, app version, language, and coarse diagnostic logs.

Chat content is screened for safety

Every message sent on ShootLink is automatically screened by a rules engine and an AI classifier to detect harassment, scams, and other violations of our Community Guidelines. Messages the system flags may be hidden or removed, and repeated violations lead to account restrictions. Screening records (category, confidence, action) are retained for 180 days so you can appeal decisions. Human reviewers see message content only when it is flagged, reported, or could not be automatically reviewed.

How we use data

• To operate the marketplace: matching, applications, chat, calendars, contracts, notifications.
• To keep people safe: content moderation, fraud prevention, enforcement, and appeals.
• To translate content into your language (text is processed by our AI provider for this purpose).
• To process purchases through Apple App Store and Google Play — we never see your card details.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content to train advertising profiles.

Sharing

• Other members see what your visibility settings allow.
• Processors — hosting, email delivery (Resend), push delivery (Apple, Google), and AI moderation/translation (DeepSeek) receive only what each function needs.
• Legal — we disclose data when required by law or to protect members from imminent harm.

Retention

• Chat history is visible in-app for 365 days, then archived.
• Moderation records: 180 days. In-app notifications: 90 days. Profile-view records: 30 days.
• Signed contracts are retained as long as your account exists, because both parties rely on them.

Deleting your account

Delete from the app (Settings → Delete account) or from this web form. After a 7-day grace period your profile, portfolio, social accounts, calendar and devices are erased; your past messages and gigs are anonymized and shown as “Deleted user”. Signed contracts are preserved for the other party as required for legal effect.

Your rights (California, Canada, and elsewhere)

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information — under the CCPA/CPRA if you are a California resident, and under PIPEDA if you are in Canada. Write to privacy@shootlink.net; we respond within 45 days. We do not discriminate against members who exercise these rights.

Age

ShootLink is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

Changes

We will notify you in-app of material changes to this policy before they take effect.
